Families of all sizes, shapes and hues are welcome and at First Church. The church provides an engaging and comprehensive Christian Education program for infants through Senior High School., as well as a Children’s Music Program. Our caring teachers, shepherds and mentors, engaging curriculum and enrichment activities offer a variety of ways for children and youth to learn about the Christian faith and participate in the life of the community.
As part of our mission to bring the generations together in worship, we hold interactive worship services for all ages on World Wide Communion Sunday in October, Christmas Eve Family Pageant Service, Palm Sunday and Sunday of Service. Several times a year we also hold Family Worship events on Sunday evenings, 5-7 PM. All ages gather together to plan, prepare and lead an informal worship service where everyone participates! After worship we all sit down and eat a meal together.
First Church’s children and youth are also involved in service projects during the year, including Workcamp and Sunday of Service projects, as well as fundraisers, toy, food and clothing drives, and other acts of service.
Visiting for the first time? Please inform a Greeter or Usher that you are new and that you’d like to be introduced to our Minister of Children and Families, Vanessa Payne Rose. Contact Vanessa with questions at 203-259-8396 x 12 or firstname.lastname@example.org
