If you choose to remember First Church in your will, please see your lawyer and add one of the following phrases to your will:
“I give, devise, and bequeath to First Church Congregational, Fairfield, for its general purposes all (or state a percentage) of the rest, residue, or remainder of my estate, whether real or personal.”
“I give to First Church, Congregational Fairfield, the sum of __________ dollars to be used for the general purposes of First Church.”
We thank those who have informed us that they have remembered First Church in their will by inviting them to join our 1639 Legacy Society.
First Church was founded in 1639 by Roger Ludlowe, deputy governor of Connecticut, along with a handful of families from Windsor. Rev. Jones arrived in 1644, a graduate of Cambridge University was an ordained Anglican Minister.
Today, the church is deeply committed to a “servant” identity wherein we seek to serve God and God’s people in metropolitan Bridgeport and throughout the world.
